AHHHH yes Family bonding :)
Usually I am a sucker for avoiding family trips at all costs.
Usually because it's kind of boring and people fight occasionally and I'd rather have some alone time than go out of my way to spend time with people I don't get long with well.... Or I find hard to open up to.. I sound like a terrible person.
Hahaha that's why I'm home alone so much and have so many parties. Kdrama parties with tea and my dog.
But I'm beginning to love family trips especially after the Philippines. That really glued our family together and it actually felt like a family trip instead of 2 families being a "family". FAMILY is so important, for anyone who knows this in the brain but not in the heart... Family is hard to love, but that's why we need to love them even more, and try harder. We can't just keep loving the people that are easy to love because your true colours show when you're with family. And that's how we're going to act with our spouse. in the future! My goal is to show christ at home as well as other places but in MY FAMILY. I want to serve others more and seek to find ways to serve them instead of sitting there with my mouth open waiting for food to fall.
God spoke to me a lot in Rotorua,...More than I expected, his words were repeated to me over and over. You know it's from God when something you've read that day is repeated haha you read it again somewhere else or you hear a pastor preaching it or a close friend/ spiritual leader/ Mum say it.
God told me that I am growing through my valley, and that I needed to let the baggage that I've been carrying around, the left over hurt all to God. I need to give over the hook to the Lord. He showed me the beautiful story of Joseph forgiving his brothers. And these verses stood out to me Gen 45:4-5 "4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! 5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you."
He was telling me that he'll supply the feelings of forgiveness later if I make a choice in my heart to truly forgive DAD. And that means, to just be thankful that I have a living Father and that he somewhat cares for me (even though he has pride built up so high he doesn't know how to show his affections). If I don't forgive and move on he said that this isn't going to get any better. Your valley will only grow deeper because you're not letting go. Sometimes it feels like life just cut off all our branches and all we have left is the stump. But hope is not lost even though it feels like everything is taken away from you, or that nothing matters anymore; because OUR GOD cares so much for you. He is shaping that tree of yours to grow stronger and taller. to produce beautiful and delicious fruit. I know it's super cheezy but that's what the sermon of the church we went to in Rotorua was about. And that is the truth.
That morning I gave my problems and the heavy burdens and the grudges I had in the past all to the Lord. I didn't feel all good and like happy immediately....
I have the rest of my notes somewhere... but here are some photos!
